£3 Billion Haweswater Aqueduct Deal
Recently a deal was struck to overhaul the Haweswater Aqueduct in the Lake District. The aqueduct is the main supplier of water to Greater Manchester and Lancashire (supplying 570 million litres of water a day!).
It is estimated to bring 1,200 jobs into the region at its peak, with an apprentice recruitment programme set to bring more skilled workers to the industry.
